Looking back, becoming a Global Leadership Architect has been years in the making.
My most cherished childhood memories are from times spent with my family. Like when I was only three or four years old and my grandfather would take my little fingers into his weathered hands gnarled by gout, to teach me how to bait a fishing hook or plant seedlings in his vegetable garden to provide food for our family. I only remember how fun it was and how loved I felt. I had no idea he was teaching me important lessons and values I’d build my life upon.
Or when my brother and I would wake up at sunrise in the backseat of our family car, peer out the window with our sleepy eyes to see and hear our parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents picking tomatoes. I can stll remember the sounds of their laughter, singing and chatter and their colourful hats bobbing up and down as they moved along the rows of tomatoes, slaving under the harsh Australian sun for wealthy white farmers so our family could work our way out of poverty … together. That’s where I first learned the foundations of how to grow prosperity in both life and business.
I thank God for using moments like that to help shape me into the person I am today. I only fully understood a few years ago that God has always had a plan and purpose for my life and thanks to my family, I learned a lot about things like hard work, resilience, perseverance, loyalty, teamwork, self-sacrifice, honor, respect, integrity, joy, longsuffering, faith, unity, discipline and diligence.
Through life’s highs and lows, God has always been there. Whether it was racism, breast cancer, mental health, exclusion or abuse, God has been my strength and comfort, using every personal and career challenge and triumph to teach me something new, refine me and make me stronger and wiser.
I’ve come to know that radical faith, brave boldness and obedience in God gives you confidence to walk out your destiny.
It’s why co-creating MARKAT Enterprises with my husband, Mark, is such a rewarding and life-changing experience. We have learned that together we are designed and called to serve others to create prosperity in life and business.
As a proud Gooreng Gooreng woman, from Australia, I also draw on my heritage and the knowledge passed down to me from generation to generation to inform my leadership and business practices.
